Im trying to remove a cigarette lighter and replace with a new one and cant get it out sleeve and element seem to be corroded together got some lube in there but can get any leverage i tried using a cork stuck on end of screw driver but no luck its driving me crazy any out-of-the-box ideas!!! 65 bonneville couldnt post video but this is how it should look when taken apart those

2000 Acura w 110k miles It happened when I did a day long, long distance driving in northern ca speeds up to 80k My cell phone is new and it charges through pc and wall Changed the car charger adapter but no luck While driving I did notice that cell phone back and forth disconnecting from power - it no longer doing it and shows there is power but it is not enough to charge the phone at all

A resting car needs no more than ~50 milliamps of current once all the electronics have gone to ‘sleep’ So about 6 hours, except if electronics haven’t gone asleep or interior lights etc come on when doors are opened The computer doesn’t have to be on the same circuit as the cig lighter

New to the forum, but not new to CarTalk… I was using a power adapter in my cigarette lighter yesterday, and when I went to remove it, the base of the adapter broke off in the lighter socket After several hours of trying to get it out (and several choice words!), I gave up on trying to remove the remnants At this point, I’ve pulled out the fuse, and am planning on getting the car
