Bench Press with Smith Machine I don't always have a spot so a lot of times I use the smith machine to bench What do you think pressing 225 on a Smith machine would be equivalent to of a normal "free" bench? I want to build up to do 10 reps of 225 on a normal bench press but i'm using the smith machine to build up to that 05-20-2010, 05:35 AM #2 Ironlife 'Defiant to Injuries' Join Date: Sep

For example, if you are doing leg extensions and seated leg press for quads glutes, switch it up the next workout and do squats and DB lunges Dont forget about utilizing your smith machine You can work in a lot of different leg exercises with that keep your workout to about an hour at most, bust ass, and you will get your results

Smith Machine Bench Press In your opinion, do you think that if you were to bench press on a Smith machine, would you be able to push the same amount of weight? Or would the limited range of motion affect your forum, and hence the amount of weight you can do? Or is the opposite true, could you bench more on a Smith machine? *When the man is confused with the legend, the myth is born* 08-10

I get a better pump with pushups than bench press My chest looks bigger and even my arms looked pumped when I do about 75-100 pushups My chest looks bigger after pushups than after a bench press workout Is it possible that pushups are better for my chest than the bench press? 06-27-2007, 02:10 AM #2 kyokushin1 Banned Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Melbourne, Australia Age: 34 Posts

I'm a bit of an ectomorph (6'2", 190 lbs, probably 20-25% body fat), and have long arms legs, and a short torso Due to long humerus lever (shoulder-elbow distance), any weight i press significantly magnifies the weight pressure on my shoulders So, any kind of bench press feels like it's mostly a front delt exercise (with some triceps involvement too, but not much chest engagement
