so I had the exact same issue and finally figured out a solution About 30 minutes after receiving the email with the broken button, I checked back on the Instagram app on my phone and there was a button (same spot as where you requested the data) that says "download data", and then I just airdropped the file to my computer

From experience, I find that if I upload an image with 1080px in width, Instagram it will keep the original quality But if I upload more than that, I believe Instagram uses its own optimization and lowers the quality when necessary Instagram has a magic number for height as well but I can't remember
