for more than 30 years the mffc has been southeast michigan's premier organization for fly fishing enthusiasts and introducing newcomers to this amazing pastime. experienced flyfishers, newcomers to the sport and those new to michigan will find a home in the mffc. the club offers a wide range of activities and educational opportunities. if you want to learn to build a rod, we can show you how. if you're interested in fly tying, we offer beginner and intermediate instruction. if you want to hear from notable experts, the first meeting of each month typically features a speaker. if you want to share your knowledge with others, the club runs schools for members and non-members alike. if you just plain want to fish, the club offers a variety of outings throughout the year. and, as you might imagine, there's no shortage of fishing stories.
in addition, the club's members come together each spring to present the annual midwest fly fishing exposition. in 2004, the expo moved to a new home, the sports & exposition center at macomb community college's south campus in warren, mi. our new venue enabled us expand the show and bring great lakes-area flyfishers the newest, best and brightest product offerings and information that our sport has to offer.
now more than 25 years old, the show has made it possible for the mffc to channel over $300,000 to habitat restoration, conservation and education programs across the state of michigan and throughout the u.s.
