- Bristol County MA- no longer have WCVB!! - Xfinity Community Forum
It is the FCC designation of Bristol County as being part of the Providence DMA that determines what channels are carried WCVB, WBZ and WHDH were grandfathered in Bristol County We cannot get NBC10 Boston because it was a new station, and now WCVB because of Hearst who owns WCVB is asking too much from Comcast to carry it outside of Boston DMA
- Bristol County MA- no longer have WCVB!! - Xfinity Community Forum
The channel that Xfinity is sticking its customers with as a replacement isn't even a Tier 3 level station The news team at WCVB is smart, savvy and professional For $200 00 per month I want a Tier 1 Class A Boston, Massachusetts news team!
- Bristol County MA- no longer have WCVB!! - Xfinity Community Forum
WCVB has "significantly viewed" status in Bristol County This isn't a matter of WLNE in Providence trying to force WCVB off the lineup Since WCVB is considered "significantly viewed" per the FCC, the channel here can be carried on cable without any restrictions or blocking of network programming

My Xfinity Stream app suddenly has lost access to local channels such as ABC and NBC ( maybe more ) on an Amazon Fire TV
- Channels vanished - Comet, LAFF, MeTV, etc. . . - Xfinity Community Forum
A little confusing in Boston From what I see, WFXT (Fox 25) carries Comet, LAFF, Bounce, Get TV MeTV is carried by WCVB (ABC 5) This is info from Wikipedia and the channel web site station finders, so not sure just how up to date it is It's probably not a carriage issue as WFXT is owned by Cox, and WCVB is owned by Hearst
