Valvoline R P is designed to clean at a slower pace over regular oil change intervals to not clog the oil filter resulting in it bypassing, this is something that they had to keep in mind while coming up with this product as it is a "mainstream" off the shelf licensed product

Independent testing would be nice to see, especially since Valvoline provided no details that I could find on how the test was performed, over what duration, in what engine, etc Even if the pictures weren't fabricated, that doesn't mean they are at all representative of real world conditions

Unfortunately Valvoline doesn't offer many details about the additives in their Synchromesh product, but they state that it meets GL-4 I like that Pennzoil offers such transparency but still find it odd that they don't apply a GL-4 label, given that this fluid is said to meet that standard

Valvoline EP 5W-30 here Plus many other Valvoline products like Maxlife ATF, power steering fluid, brake fluid, xfr case, rear diff, grease, etc It wasn't till recently in another thread that I realized I use a lot of Valvoline products As far as VRP, I may never use it but if I do, it'll be another year or two to see more test results

Valvoline Restore Protect doesn't restore anything It cleans varnish and unsticks carbon deposits that will end up in your oil filter The secret behind Valvoline Restore Protect is a propriatery detergent that's more potent than the one found in Pennzoil But if you have a clean engine already there is no reason to switch away from Pennzoil

I’ve always liked Valvoline but like most have run a lot of oils Lately I’ve been steady on Valvoline it’s all the Mustang has had since new, 5 straight OCIs worth the last two of which have been EP HM Going to hit 25k at next OCI and plan to do a “maintenance” run of VRP
