I have a VW Transporter T5 LWB with the 2 0tdi (140bhp) engine The van was driving great until one day when it now won't accelerate past approximately 3000rpm When I accelerate, it pulls fine until this range but when I get to 3000rpm, the van feels like it is engine braking and sounds like a misfire (diesel knock)

That said, this is the first VW I’ve owned that used oil between changes I have owned 4 cylinder non-turbo, 5 cylinder non-turbo, and this particular car is my 3rd 4cylinder turbo There are no leaks and I do not observe blue smoke so I do not know where the oil is going, but a quart and a half every 10,000 miles is not bad
