The Office of Emergency Services works closely with the entire emergency services community in Chautauqua County, serving the public and first responders alike The Office of Emergency Services supports each of the County's 42 fire departments They also manage the Taylor Training Center in Jamestown and the Murphy Training Center in Dunkirk

A key aspect of the Chautauqua County emergency medical system is the EMS Council the purpose of which is to formulate, develop and coordinate an effective emergency medical services system plan within Chautauqua County Membership on the EMS Council is set at 35 voting members with additional Ex-Officio non-voting as appropriate

The mission of the Response Team is to provide Chautauqua County Emergency Services and The Chautauqua County Office of the Sheriff with an operational team to provide a coordinated county wide response when additional fire police personnel or equipment is needed to assist any fire or police department in Chautauqua County or adjoining areas

The Fire Investigation Team is comprised of 4 Deputy Sheriff’s and 5 members from the Fire Service, including members from the Cassadaga, Falconer, Hanover Center, Mayville, and Sherman Fire Departments, as well as a member of the Emergency Services staff Each member of the Fire Investigation Team is New York State, Level II certified

The FAB shall provide infromation to the general public concerning fire and emergency services The FAB shall cooperate with the Office of Fire Prevention and Control and other federal, state and local agencies in the execution of training programs, mutual aid programs, and in regulatory compliance
