There is a Cathay bank EVA card that is supposedly better, but the key part is if you're a foreigner it's extremely difficult to get a credit card in Taiwan in general With Amex they can take your US other country previous Amex credit history into account and give you a taiwan credit card This last part was the key factor for me

I have a rookie question I am a JAL mileage bank member I signed up when I flew to japan as I didn’t have any one world affiliation I’m flying on Cathay Pacific (E) and notice that my accrual rate for JAL will only be 70% Would it be better to open an AA account for this flight or keep with JAL at the 70% accrual rate?
