It's a pan from a 83-95 mustang, the block is a 302 mexican from roughly 1971, and the timing chain cover is a universal aluminum unit Please let me know what you think

I asked this same question about 12 years ago or longer, and obviously there is still not a definitive answer I sold the hopeless project a few years later, but I vaguely remember somebody telling me to look for a pan that was specific with Ford E-vans

More than likely the dip stick tube goes in the timing cover on the passenger side If the engine came out of a fox body vehicle it goes in the lower rear portion of the engine block on the passenger side you will find a machined area and a through hole with no threads

Apparently the '86 and up 302's use a straight 3 8" dipstick tube where it goes into the block, but pre-86 could be either straight 3 8" or 3 8" that tapers down inside the block to 325" which is what I have and there are no flexible aftermarket tubes with the taper

In the late 70's and up until the end of the 302 production in 1995, the dip stick went either into the side of the block or the oil pan, again depending on year and application
