you can't compare those two decks the pio is active and has way more tuning features than the kenwood the kenwood has built in bt and usb ipod for the cash, in the case of picking one to join the ms-8, the 994 wins here to the OP, pick a deck with the features you want (nav, usb, bt, ipod, etc) and let the ms-8 do all the rest
